There’s no doubt, everyone’s talking about container technologies these days. Especially Docker has established itself as the de facto standard here. This is not only based on the company delivering a great product, but also because of the vast ecosystem that has formed around Docker, where various groups support and complement each other to make the whole ecosystem stronger. These technologies are especially suited to develop, run, and deploy microservices. However, when the amount of microservices and corresponding containers increases, a need for service orchestration arises. This talk gives an introduction to microservice orchestration as well as an overview of recent technologies, like CoreOS, Kubernetes, and Mesos. Further, we discuss how these technologies can be used to manage an infrastructure with a high amount of containers.
